Please be advised that the OSU Students for Justice in Palestine are organizing a “Sit-In at Moritz Law School” (OSU campus) on Nov. 29 at 2:00 pm. There are no known threats of violence associated with this event and SJP is promoting it as a “peaceful sit-in.”

Columbus City Council Meeting
The Palestinian Liberation Movement’s Columbus chapter announced that they are encouraging people to attend the upcoming Columbus City Council meeting in order to “shut down city council.” The meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 13 at 5 pm, at City Hall (90 W Broad St.).
Ohio Wesleyan University
There will be a Pro-Palestine vigil outside the library at Ohio Wesleyan University (Delaware, OH) on Nov 13 at noon.

Halloween Awareness
Temple Israel Columbus has been made aware by the ADL and SCN of a rumor that alleges that pro-Hamas operatives are planning to go trick or treating on Halloween (10/31/2023) in order to attack people whose homes have mezuzahs affixed to them. Please be advised that there is no credible evidence that this is true at this time.

Statement From Jewish Columbus Regarding Oct. 13 “General Mobilization”
JewishColumbus is aware of various news reports on the statement Hamas issued yesterday calling for a “General Mobilization” of the “Arab and Islamic world” this Friday, Oct 13. There is a lot of misinformation being spread on the internet, specifically on social media, which is why we are reaching out.
here have been no credible threats to the U.S. Jewish community arising from the recent events in Israel. However, it’s important to stay vigilant as situations can change rapidly, and individuals may be motivated to engage in harmful actions without warning, including continued in-person and online harassment, anti-Israel demonstrations, and possibly cyber attacks on Jewish agency networks, websites, and social media platforms.
Currently, our U.S. government agencies have not raised the threat level associated with the recent statements made by Hamas. Therefore, I encourage everyone to maintain their current security measures, including staying aware of their surroundings.
Regarding reports about Hamas’ recent statement, it’s crucial to understand that their intent is to mobilize support for that fight in Israel, not to incite violence against any specific group around the world. Some reports may have been misinterpreted, leading to unnecessary alarm.
